I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been selected as one of the winners of OnScore’s inaugural scoring competition, inspired by the enchanting world of Brave. Stepping into the musical landscape shaped by the extraordinary Patrick Doyle has been an unforgettable experience—his work on the film has inspired me for many years.
Composing my entry was both a challenge and a joy. It offered a chance to bring my own musical voice to a scene rich with emotion, folklore, and character. I invested countless hours—and more than a few late nights—into crafting the score, so having it recognised in this way is incredibly meaningful.
What makes this honour truly surreal is that Patrick Doyle himself reviewed my winning piece. Knowing that my work was listened to and evaluated by a composer of his calibre—whose scores have shaped so many beloved films—is deeply humbling. His artistry, storytelling, and orchestral imagination have influenced composers around the world, and I’m genuinely honoured to have had my music placed before him.
A heartfelt thank-you to the team at OnScore for creating such a fantastic opportunity for both emerging and established composers. I’m immensely grateful, proud, and excited for what’s ahead. You can watch Patrick’s reaction by clicking here.
